After the insurance company played a game (with my life, for money) by refusing to honor the settle agreement. My life stayed on hold for 1.5 years.
We took the issue to court, and I encouraged my attorney used the words, "The President says insurance companies don't get to hurt people anymore" with the Administrative Law Judge. This was sometime after a young woman (Nataline Sarkisyan, maybe) from California died waiting for benefit approval from her insurance company.
Consumers had little power in healthcare at the time, and she lost in 2007, and died. That sparked the healthcare reform movement, which eventually became the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Because of the President's leadership on health care, I won. This is Obamacare to me.
